Cylindrical roller bearings
Cylindrical roller bearing is usually guided by the two ribs of one bearing ring. Cage, roller and guiding ring form an assembly. This bearing is usually separable bearing. The installation and disassembly of this kind of bearing is convenient. Especially when the inner and outer rings as well as the shaft and housing are required to have interference fit, its advantage is more obvious. This kind of bearing is usually only used to bear radial load. Only the single row bearing, of which the inner and outer rings both have ribs, can bear smaller axial load or larger intermittent axial load. Compared with deep groove ball bearing of the same shape and size, this bearing has larger radial load ability. As for the structure, this bearing is also applicable to high speed rotation.
The roller and ball track of RVR cylindrical roller bearing are designed with convexity modification, which can eliminate the edge stress and improve the service life of bearing.
The ribs of RVR cylindrical roller bearing are designed with inclination angle, which makes it able to bear larger axial load than that of the regular design.
Main structural type:
1.Cylindrical roller bearing without rib on inner ring or without rib on outer ring
NU type cylindrical roller bearing has two ribs on its outer ring, but no rib on its inner ring. N type cylindrical roller bearing has two ribs on its inner ring, but no rib on its outer ring.
Both NU type and N type cylindrical roller bearings allow the shaft to make two-way axial displacement relative to bearing box. So they can bear the length change of shaft due to thermal expansion. It is appropriate to use them as non-locating bearings. They can bear relatively large radial load, but no axial load.
Cylindrical roller bearing with ribs on both inner and outer rings
NJ type cylindrical roller bearing has two ribs on its outer ring and one rib on its inner ring. NF type cylindrical roller bearing has one rib on its outer ring and two ribs on its inner ring.
Both NJ type and NF type cylindrical roller bearings can limit the one-direction axial displacement of shaft and housing so as to realize single-way axial locating and to bear relatively small sing-way axial load.
NUP type cylindrical roller bearing has two ribs on outer ring, and rib on one side of inner ring and stop collar on the other side of inner ring. This kind of bearing can make two-way axial locating to shaft, and bear two-way axial force. NUP…N can be chosen as the structure type of bearing. NJ type cylindrical roller bearing with separate thrust collar HJ is just like NUP type cylindrical roller bearing. It can be used as locating bearing.
2.Cylindrical roller bearing without inner ring or outer ring
RNU type cylindrical roller bearing is bearing without inner ring. It has two ribs on its outer ring. It is NU type cylindrical roller bearing with no inner ring.
RN type cylindrical roller bearing is bearing without outer ring. It has two ribs on its inner ring.
Both RNU type and RN type cylindrical roller bearings are used in parts with limited radial dimension. The surface of shaft neck or housing hole is used as ball track. The hardness, machining precision and surface quality of the ball track surface should be similar to those of the ball track of rings.
3.Cylindrical roller bearing with full complement of rollers
It usually use the structure of having two ribs on outer ring and one rib on inner ring, such as NJ…V, NUP…V, RNU…V, etc. Compared to roller bearing with cage of the similar structure, it has advantages like large rated load and simple structure. When the rotation rate and operation temperature are not very high, the lubrication condition is good and the box is rather clean, full roller structure shall be the priority choice.
4.E-type cylindrical roller bearing
E-type cylindrical roller bearing has the same size with that of ordinary type. But the roller’s diameter, length and number are increased, so the bearing’s loading capacity is also correspondingly increased.
We put an “E” after the basic type so as to differ this kind of bearing from other bearings. The incircle diameter of its roller is different from that of ordinary type bearing. So it can not be exchanged with ordinary type bearing.
